Virginia Jane Janosik (nee Zampino)

February 17, 1928 – January 20, 2023

Virginia Jane Janosik of Cleveland, Ohio died January 20, 2023 at the age of 94.  Beloved wife of George Edward Janosik (died June 23, 2009) for 58 years.  Devoted mother of Sharon (Graham) Mitchell, David (Lucy) Janosik and John (Diana) Janosik.  Cherished grandmother to Jennifer Janosik, Robert (Danielle) Janosik, Steven (Stacey) Mitchell, Mark (Abby Miller) Mitchell, Daniel (Meghan) Janosik, Michael (Abbey) Janosik, Sarah (Travis) Bagley, and Jonathan Starzynski (Karla).  Beloved great grandmother of Travon Flemon; Beatrice, Emilia, and Nicholas Mitchell; Eleanor (deceased), Ruth and George Janosik; Eva and Alice Janosik, Oliver Bagley, and Lennyn Mitchell.

Virginia loved her family, and along with George, taught us all to treasure family relationships. She was an amazing baker and cook, avid gardener, dedicated nature lover, enthusiastic birder, passionate wildflower lover, and first-class hiker.  She loved vacations – especially enjoying the oceans and seashores, and she always wanted to try new things – even riding in a hot air balloon and cross-country skiing with George.  She was a living example of her values. She lived life to the fullest among friends and family members and her legacy and spirit will live on in the generations that follow her.

Virginia is now reunited with her husband and favorite dance and adventure partner, George.

A funeral and celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 10:30AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (Chapel) in West Chester, Ohio. Burial will be at Knollwood Cemetery in Cleveland (Mayfield Heights), Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Little Sisters of the Poor - Cleveland.
