Michael Patrick Kuhl, 79, of Lewis County Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky on August 8, 2023, after an extended illness.
Born June 20, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife, Iris Evelyn (nee Push) and daughter Teresa Mussman. He is survived by sons Michael Anthony (Inger), Brian (Lisa) and Timothy Kuhl as well as grandchildren, Sarah, Alex, Jeffrey, Michael William, Colby, Kenny, Kinsey, Casey and 6 great-grandchildren. Beloved brother of Sr. Mary Kuhl, Bonnie Busch, James, Lonnie and the late Timothy, Daniel, Thomas, Jerry, John, Ruth Hauser and Gloria Freitas.
Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Subsequently, he worked at the Coca Cola company in Cincinnati, Ohio for nearly two decades and retired to Lewis County Kentucky.
He led an active life coaching sports teams, enjoying various hobbies and helping others. He confronted challenges head-on, especially when battling and defeating throat cancer in 2008. His drive, humor and legacy will leave a lasting impression on many people.
Visitation, Monday, August 14, 9:00 AM at Gilligan Funeral Home, 3671 Warsaw Ave 45205, immediately followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 3680 Warsaw Ave 45205.
