Marguerite Stowe Obituary

Marguerite Stowe (neé Heffernan) passed away in the care of Hospice of Cincinnati on November 5, 2023. She was 93. She is survived by her son Jay Stowe and his wife Alyssa Brandt, her daughter Katie Monroe and her husband Murray Monroe, as well as her beautiful granddaughters Finola Stowe and Miriam and Livia Monroe, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Marguerite was born in Fabius, NY, the third daughter of Thomas and Katherine (Hennigan) Heffernan. She was raised on the family farm along with her brother Tommy and sisters Rita and Virginia (all deceased). Marguerite was a graduate of Fabius Central High School. She joined Procter & Gamble shortly after high school and worked in the Syracuse, NY, office for 18 years, which is where she met John. Marguerite and John were married in Syracuse in 1966 and made their home in Cincinnati, where John had been transferred.

Their son Jay and daughter Katie were born in Cincinnati. Over the ensuing 57 years, Marguerite managed to raise two children, work part-time as a secretary, volunteer at a local nursing home, sing in her church choir, keep an immaculate home, play bridge, attend CSO concerts, travel with John and most of all enjoy the company of many friends, neighbors and family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 13 at All Saints Catholic Church (8939 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45236). Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
