The Lewis Family is celebrating Grace’s legacy of helping others in need by establishing an annual 5K race that will benefit Exploring with Grace charities. This year the race will be held on Grace’s birthday (Saturday, March 19).

The Lewis Family is working with Eventz for Charity for the Exploring with Grace Race. Eventz for charity is a 501(c)(3) non -profit organization that works with other non-profit organizations to give back to deserving charities. The proceeds from the Eventz for Charity – Exploring with Grace will go to support both The Greenacres Foundation – Exploring with Grace Fund and Exploring With Grace Jiu Jitsui Fund.

Grace Emma Lewis passed away suddenly on July 20, 2021. Grace was born on March 19, 2003 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a 2021 Indian Hill graduate and a certified EMT and Wilderness First Responder. Grace is the youngest child of Michael Lewis and Kim Martin Lewis. She is also survived by her siblings who adored her: Hope Lewis, Luke Lewis, Tori Sparkman Lewis (Ian), Joshua Lewis and Daron Artis; her maternal grandmother, Beverly Martin and her paternal grandfather, Donald Lewis; Aunts and Uncles: David and Sue Lewis, Scott Lewis, Sara Lewis, Kevin Martin, Debbie Winn, David McMullen, Linda Lewis, Lora Lewis, Lance Lewis and Kathy McMullen; Nephews, Mario and Leo Lewis (Elizabeth Rogers) and many cousins who adored her. Grace was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Jere Martin and paternal grandmother, Arbia Faye Lewis.

Grace was a Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, workout, outdoor and animal enthusiast. Grace could never be found playing video games (except weekly sibling game nights). You could always find Grace at the Jiu-Jitsu studio, boxing gym or regular gym, outside in the woods playing with her dogs, making traps, shooting bows, running, hiking, rucking or whittling.

Grace prided herself in helping others. Her goal in life was to help people who could not help themselves. From the time she was very young, her Christmas and birthday lists were filled with requests for donations to charities that supported her passions. She also volunteered her time training her fellow Jiu-Jitsu students and loved helping others at every opportunity.

Grace was loved and will be missed terribly by her family, her Jiu-Jitsu, boxing and workout families, her dogs, her friends at Camp Sousley and Indian Hill, and everyone she touched along her journey in life.

The Celebration of Grace’s life will be held July 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenacres Arts Center, 8400 Blome Road, #A, Cincinnati, Ohio, followed by a luncheon. Please wear whatever you want. Grace would want you to be comfortable and she never liked dressing up.

In lieu of flowers, Grace’s family has established two Exploring with Grace Funds to honor Grace’s goal of helping people and carry on her passions of Jiu-Jitsu and the outdoors.

The Lewis Family and Gracie Cincinnati have established Exploring with Grace: Grace Lewis Jiu-Jitsu Fund, which will help underprivileged and at risk kids gain access to Jiu-Jitsu. Donations can be made to:
