Frances L. Schroeder

Frances L. Schroeder, born March 30,1936, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 17, 2023 at the age of 87. She leaves behind her daughters Becky (Mitchel) McGrath, Margy (Ryan) Conners, Susie (Randy) Bishop, ten grandchildren Christopher McGrath (Lauren) Erin McGrath (Leila) Ben McGrath (Theresa) Jay McGrath (Whitney) Jeff Hensley (Sarah) Patrick Conners, Jack Bishop (Natasha) Emily Molnar (Gabe) Sam Bishop and Pete Bishop, twelve great grandchildren Jake and Natalie McGrath, Eli Farace, Maggie and Mitch McGrath, Eloise and Owen Hensley, Charlie and Rose Bishop, Lucy, Ellie and Polly Molnar. Also, her sister Peggy (Charlie) Campbell and brother-in-law Ed (Dee) Schroeder.

Fran was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Louis Schroeder who she met when they both worked at the Kroger Co. Fran also was business agent for the Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Fran and Lou had a fun and family filled marriage with many great pool parties and cookouts. Sunday dinners were never the same after Lou passed in 2002. She is also predeceased by her sister Sharon (Fred) Smith, brother-in-law George (Rosemary) Schroeder and John (Mary) Schroeder.

“Mamaw” loved her grand and great grandchildren and she always greeted them with big hugs and one of her signature greetings… “You look like a movie star.”

She and Lou would attend all the events of the grandkids, beginning early in the morning and ending at sundown. Many weekends were spent in gyms or on ball fields, ending with family dinners, movies, ice cream and kids spending the night.

Fran loved animals, especially her little dog Kobe, playing cards, watching movies and reading. Fran and Lou, life-long Catholics spent many hours volunteering at St. Andrews / St. Elizabeth Ann Seton working festivals, fish fries, chicken dinners, babysitting and doing anything asked of them. They lived their faith and instilled those beliefs in the family they loved.

In remembrance of Fran, we will celebrate a life well lived.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 552 Main Street, Milford Ohio 45150.
