F. Michael “Mike” Hyzdu passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023, after a long illness. He was surrounded by family at Hospice of Cincinnati and is finally at peace.
Mike attended Miami University and graduated with a degree in Economics. He began his investment career in 1973, spending fourteen years with E.F. Hutton and the remainder with Painewebber/UBS. During Mike’s career, he served as Regional Derivatives Coordinator, opened and managed Hutton’s Kenwood office and was one of the industry’s first Portfolio Managers (1980).
Mike is survived by his wife Sue of 24 years. He is also survived by Shelley Jensen, the mother of his three sons, Michael (Nicole), Adam (Julie), Marshall (Sara), and two step children, Brian Sando (Laura), Chelsea Sando (fiancé Tom Rentschler).
Mike was a devoted grandfather to eight wonderful grandchildren, Nathan, Madison, Zach (Kendall), Alexa, Luke, James, Teddy, AJ, Henry and Holly. He also is survived by two great granddaughters, Hazel and Dolly Hyzdu. Mike had two brothers Bryan (Debi) and Gary Hyzdu. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Hyzdu.
Mike and Sue were members of Kenwood Country Club where they played golf and where they met many of their dearest friends. They spent winters in Naples, Florida, where they also enjoyed golfing, biking and watching sunsets with their wonderful neighbors.
Mike and Sue loved travelling and visited many different countries; sometimes via motorcycle!
