AC “Tom” Shoop, Jr. of Cincinnati; passed away at 88 years of age on May 10, 2023. Tom was born in 1935 in Evanston, IL and raised in suburban NYC (spending summers in Washington Court House, OH) before attending his beloved Phillips Academy (Andover) prior to graduating from Yale University in 1957. Following service in the US Army, Tom began his 30+ career with Procter and Gamble working in marketing/advertising starting in Cincinnati then in San Francisco, Boston, Spain, The Philippines, then back to what became his hometown of Cincinnati where he and his wife raised their family. In addition to being a Royals, Reds and Bengals season ticket holder, long-time golfer/traveler and history/reading enthusiast, Tom was active in the local Madeira (OH) and Cincinnati community donating time to various school, sports and church activities.
Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy, son Charlie (Tampa, FL), daughter-in-law Rhea along with grandchildren Jacob, Anna, Jonathan, and Emme Shoop and is preceded in death by his oldest son Steve (2011) and sister Janice Eldridge (2011).
Memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, May 19th at All Saints Catholic Church (8939 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH) at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are suggested to the St. Xavier High School Steven A. Shoop Scholarship Fund, CISE Foundation – Cincinnati’s Catholic Inner-city Schools Education Foundation, or Hospice of Cincinnati.
