William J. "Bill" Moran, M.D. passed away on June 25, 2024. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Mary Beth who passed in June '23. Loving father to Bill Jr. (Ann), Megan Fitzpatrick (David), Matt (deceased) (Mary), Brion (Rebecca) and Moira Veech (Mike). He cherished and enriched the lives of his grandchildren: Liam, Julia, Luke, Angelina, Caitlin, Jack, Charlie, Henry, and Lucy and step-grandchildren Theresa (Daniel), Molly, and Mary Kate. Devoted brother to Jim (deceased), Tom (Thelma), Mary Ann (deceased), and Mike (Paula). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Born April 20, 1933, to the late William E. and Mary J. (nee O'Brien) Moran.
Bill grew-up in Indianapolis where he was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School. He earned his bachelor's and medical degrees from Indiana University. He was an All-American swimmer excelling in the backstroke for the Indianapolis Athletic Club and the IU Hoosiers. Bill served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era and attained the rank of Commander.
He lived his Catholic faith and loved his family. His professional calling was to be an OB/GYN where he was caring, attentive, respectful and compassionate to his patients. In his 45 years of practice, he delivered thousands of babies and was recognized for his outstanding care by the Tri-Health and Mercy Hospitals, the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine, and Birthright. He was active with the Good Samaritan OB/GYN residency program; where he was passionate about teaching and learning. He was co-founder of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's chapter of the Serra Club and served as President of Serra International. Bill enjoyed swimming his entire life. He was a talented woodworker and was a loyal fan of the Muskies, Reds and Bengals. The past 5 years he lived at Twin Lakes where he enjoyed developing friendships, continuing to learn, challenging himself, growing his faith and living an active life.

Visitation will be at Gilligan Funeral Home 8225 Montgomery Rd. July 11 from 9AM to 10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be July 11 at 11AM at All Saints Parish in Montgomery. A Celebration of Life at Twin Lakes 9840 Montgomery Rd. will be July 11 6PM-8PM.
