After a rich and full life, Bill Favret passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30th at Kenwood Terrace Care Center. He was 87 years old. Bill was born on January 2, 1933 to Jim and Helen (nee Gilligan) Favret, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the fifth child in a family of eight children. He was a life-long resident of Cincinnati, graduating from Purcell High School and attending Xavier University where he received his masters degree in business administration. Prior to getting his masters, Bill was a proud veteran serving during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force where he served as a medic and was stationed in Germany. When he returned from the war, he married Eileen Savage and they raised three wonderful children, Jim, Nell and Molly. He worked in the advertising field for many years at William Savage Company, Favret Advertising, and then Stockton West and Burkhart. In his retirement years, Bill worked at Executive Transportation and enjoyed driving and meeting people from all walks of life including Rosa Parks. After years of driving, Bill moved to working the dispatch desk arriving early in the morning to coordinate the day's schedule. He thoroughly enjoyed his years at Executive Transportation and worked with terrific people who remained friends until the end of his life. Bill was creative, funny and always the entertainer. His true love was the theater and he spent more than a dozen years as a devoted member of the theater group the Beechmont Players and starred in productions at La Comedia and Showboat Dinner Theaters. His most memorable role was Elwood P Dodd in Harvey. A role perfectly suited to his humor and talents, he was originally cast in the role in high school, and then repeated the performance with the Beechmont Players and brought the house down with laughter and the crowd to their feet in applause. In addition, he used his gifts in service to others by reading weekly for the Radio Reading Service for the Blind, where he volunteered for 35 years. He was a devoted and engaged father, always bringing laughter and optimism into the home. He loved to write funny poems for friends and family and shared them as little surprises that he took great joy in reading. Family was the most important part of his life. He enjoyed close relationships with his children, grandchildren, siblings, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His family was the greatest joy of his life. Bill was preceded in his death by his parents, James Raymond and Helen Favret, his brothers Patrick Favret, Father J.
