Mr. William "Billy" E. Windes, age 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio formerly of Herndon and Hopkinsville, KY passed away 8:05AM Friday, March 20, 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio of natural causes. Visitation at 6:30-8:30 pm Friday, March 27 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, 700 Country Club Ln, Hopkinsville, KY 42240. (www.madduxfuquahinton.com) Funeral at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 28 at First Presbyterian Church 303 East 9th Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240. Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Windes was born February 15, 1922 in Thurmond, West Virginia, the son of the late Enoch and Cara (nee Briney) Windes . He was a farmer, fertilizer manufacturer, wood worker, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hopkinsville, KY. William was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Windes (nee Cates), his daughter, Susan Tendian, and son-in-law J.D. Stahl. Survivors include; his son, Larry (Lois) Windes of Kingsport, TN; two daughters, Sarah Windes of Blacksburg, VA, and Nancy (Sam Swanson) Windes of Cincinnati, OH; son-in-law Sonny Tendian of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, Peter, and Andrew Windes, Eric and Clare Tendian, Daniel and Hans Stahl. He is also survived by his sister and brother; Emma Jean Conley of Nashville TN and Stanley Burton Windes of Naperville IL.
