Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Ann John, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1945, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ginny was the beloved wife of the late Alfred John.

Ginny is survived by her two loving sons and daughters-in-law: Gregory Per Bergethon and Catherine Clay Bergethon of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Richard Bryce Bergethon and Amy Seibert Bergethon of Holt, Michigan.

She was a cherished grandmother to five granddaughters: Kirstyn Elizabeth Roman with husband, Adrian Roman, Ashlyn Nicole Bergethon, Claire Elise Bergethon, Abigail Grace Bergethon, and Mia Camden Bergethon.

Ginny is also survived by her treasured sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" Winger, and her family along with the family of their late brother, Orville Theodore Beachley, Jr.

Ginny graduated with a B.A. in Education from Bethany College. She is fondly remembered as an elementary school teacher in Connecticut, Michigan, and Ohio. Ginny was known for her warmth, kindness, strength, faith in the Lord and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who were blessed to know her.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Ginny's life at a memorial service to be held at Hope Church in Mason, OH, on June 29, 2024, at 1:11 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear a teal-colored item in honor of Ginny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association .
