An Extraordinary Life

Vincent Carmen Caruso, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on September 22, 2021 at Bethesda North Hospital. A resident of Cincinnati since 1957, Mr. Caruso was born on July 16, 1931 in the Washington Heights section of New York, New York.

Vincent was a kind and gentle soul. All who met him remember his warm personality and subtle sense of humor. He had the ability to make everyone laugh and feel special.

Vincent's fierce competitive spirit kept him playing handball into his 80's. He loved all sports, and especially enjoyed watching, and discussing players and statistics with his grandson Paulie.

Overcoming a fear of public speaking through courses with Toastmasters International, Vincent became a lecturer for mass at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish. He loved to travel, was engagingly curious, deeply religious, spiritual, and contemplative.

Vincent attended Bronx High School of Science and City College of New York. He served in the Army for 2 years before earning an MBA from Xavier University where he taught Marketing. To this day, his former students still comment on his passionate, experiential style of teaching.

Possessing an innovative mind, Vincent established Imaging Supplies, Inc., He sold the company and retired in 1999.

In 1957, Vincent married Jeanette Cioffi. Together, they relocated to Cincinnati, for his job at InterChemical Corporation. They had three children, Vince who passed in 2000, Josie, and Gina. All three had special relationships with their father and adored him.

A very patient and devoted family man, Sunday dinners were Vincent's favorite times spent with family, especially when his grandson cooked the traditional Italian sauce.

Vincent was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, whose soaring spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
