Thomas Sheehan, age 87, passed away May 7, 2019 after a month long illness. Tom is survived by his wife Darlene (Digman), his step-daughters Jackie (Brad) Buckey, and Leslie (Karl) Roehrig, his grandchildren Dustin (Amanda) Harigle, Tyler (Korina) Harigle, John Knight, Jessica (Shawn) McCullough, Linda Buckey, and Erin, Connor, and Jakob Roehrig. He also has 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Gregory Sheehan and daughter Toma (Gary) Harigle as well as his siblings Peg, Dan, Fran, Jack, and Bobby. Tom was born October 10, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts. He joined the Army in 1949 and served overseas for 2 years. He was honorably discharged in September, 1952. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the UN Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. Throughout his life, Tom worked as a plant manager at Galion Manufacturing (Bucyrus, Ohio), Speicher Corp (Celina, Ohio), Schindler Haughton (Toledo, Ohio), Fujitec (Lebanon, Ohio), Mitsubishi (Mason, Ohio) and most recently at the Blue Ash Golf Course where he worked in the pro shop. Tom was still an avid golfer and enjoyed yearly golfing trips with his friends to South Carolina and Georgia. He had also previously enjoyed bowling and playing basketball, baseball, and softball. He also collected stamps and Olympic pins. Staying true to his Boston roots, he continued to be a huge fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. A memorial service will be held on May 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Gilligan Funeral Home 8225 Montgomery Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics, Shriners Hospital, or Disabled American Veterans, all charities that were close to Tom's heart.
