Thomas E. Schlegel died Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at the age of 67. He was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in March and died at home with his family. The life Tom lived was a triumph defined by a generous heart filled with giving. Those fortunate enough to have known him benefitted from his foresight, his wit, but mostly by his openness to communicate his love. His straightforward ability to connect with others in a manner that showed true interest, respect, and genuine caring was unforgettable. His life has touched so many others but especially his sons Daniel and Sam, his wife of 20 years, Kelly, his brothers John, Dan, and Dave (Carol), his mother Betty Snyder and niece Jayna Schlegel Schimberg (Dan). Tom is predeceased by his daughter Eleanor, his nephew J David Schlegel, and his father George. A mass for Tom is planned for 10am, Thursday, June 25th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249. A celebration of Tom's enduring spirit will occur immediately after the service at the Cincinnati Nature Center Krippendorf Lodge at Rowe Woods 4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, 45150, until 3pm. All who knew Tom are welcome. Dress is casual.
