Thomas J. Queenan, passed-away Monday, May 1, 2017. He is survived by his siblings; Michael D. (Martha) Queenan, Kathleen M. (Donald) Ottke and sister-in-law Joanne M. (the late Robert G.) Queenan. He was the son of the late Robert L. and Margaret A. Queenan. He is survived by 9 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. Thomas held a PhD in history from Kent State University and was a retired State of Ohio employee. His passions were rooting for the Xavier University Musketeers Basketball Team and traveling. He was a political science buff and an Army veteran. As a life-long member of St. Gertrude Parish, he attended daily Mass. He had a cadre of Madeira friends, swam every day, loved opera and classical music, and frequently enjoyed the theater. Visitation will be on Friday, May 5 from 5 to 7 pm at the Gilligan Funeral Home, Montgomery at Galbraith. Mass of Christian Burial will held at 9 am Saturday at St. Gertrude Church, Madeira. Private interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to St. Gertrude Parish General Education Endowment Fund.
