Terry Tomlin

Terry Tomlin, 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 2, 2026.

Terry was born on February 19, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Gordon Wangen and Irene (Grau) Wangen. She went on to graduate from East High School in 1966.

Terry spent most of her life working for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, where she dedicated 32 years of service as a Customer Service Assistant II. Terry was a proud OCSEA (AFSCME) union member during her service with the State and Retiree chapter.

Terry will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of family, and the joy she brought to those around her. Throughout high school, Terry was a drum majorette, known for her impressive fire baton twirling and dedication to performing. She also had a deep love for dogs and was a devoted “dog mom” to many throughout the years. She especially enjoyed taking her dog to Winton Woods Park, where she could spend time with her group of friends she made there.

After her granddaughter was born, Terry moved to Cincinnati and spent many years supporting and caring for her family. She cherished the time she spent with her loved ones and was especially proud of her granddaughter, Evie. One of her favorite things was watching Evie play volleyball and cheering her on from the stands. Terry’s love, encouragement, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Terry is survived by her daughter Kristi (B); her grandchildren, Evie and Andrew; and her sister Debbie (Denny).

Terry was preceded in death by Father Gordon, Mother Irene, and Sister Rhonda Jo.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45236. A service celebrating Terry's life will follow at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.

Terry will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched.
