It is with profound sadness and the acceptance of her peace that we share on December 6th, our dear Stephanie Johanna Luning was welcomed into the eternal light and love of Heaven after a courageous 20 year battle with brain cancer. Born March 19, 1981 Stephanie is the beloved daughter of Mary Anne and George Luning, adored sister of Melissa (& Jeremy) Fine of Bedford, NH and Michael (& Carolan) Luning of Nashville TN, cherished Aunt to Henry, Marielle, Audrey, and Maddie and treasured friend to a countless community across the country. She is preceded by her father and loving grandparents Lorraine and George Lamps of Delhi and Marian and Tony Luning of Silverton. Steph lit up the halls at Ursuline Academy in Blue Ash, receiving the first ever Centennial Spirit Award for best exemplifying the spirit of Ursuline with her generosity, service, attitude, and overall demeanor. She graduated from The University of Kentucky where she earned a BS in Nursing and a place on the Dean's List. Steph went on to work as a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC in the neurosurgical ICU, orthopedic spine and interventional care units, and at the Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch as well as St Joseph's Outpatient Surgery Center in Chicago, IL. In 2017, Stephanie became a Senior Therapy Support Specialist at Medtronic Pelvic Health in Chicago and then in Denver, CO. Her desire to always help inspired her to join Medtronic ASPIRE and take a service trip to Quito, Ecuador as well as serve as a board member of Hope for The Children Orphanages. Her true joy was spending time with her family at The Lake, crewing sailboat races on Lake Michigan, traveling and seeking adventure, and connecting with all those lucky enough to be drawn in by her light and bright smile. Visitation hours Saturday December 13, 9-10am Gilligan Funeral Home in Montgomery, OH followed by Mass at All Saints Catholic Church at 10:30am. A reception will follow at The Remington Room 12-3pm 7813 Ted Gregory Lane in Montgomery.
