Shirley Ann Shemo, 80, passed away on July 9th, 2015 at her Madeira, Ohio home. Born on May 3rd, 1935 to the late Albert H. and Theresa Glins (nee De Salvo). Survived by her husband of over 46 years, Stephen J. Shemo, daughter Sandra J. Whiting (Patrick), sister Virginia Rave and many nieces/nephews and great nieces/great nephews. Preceded in death by her brother Gerald Glins and her daughter Sharon A. Shemo. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in 1957, worked at University Hospital and later moved to the Veterans Administration Medical Center from which she retired in 1994 after 26 years of service. Interests have included: March of Dimes volunteer, PTA, Brownie leader, assistant soccer coach, travel, swimming and sunning, camping, member of the Sycamore Senior Center and of St. Gertrude Parish and sitting on the back patio enjoying nature. Visitations will be held at Gilligan Funeral Home on Friday, July 17th from 6-8:30pm (8225 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236) and at All Saints Catholic Church on Saturday, July 18th from 9-10:30am followed immediately by Mass at 10:30am (8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236). Reception for family and close friends following Mass at De Sha's (11320 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249). In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or American Lung Association.
