Obituary

Sheila Gocke Seeds Page of (Cincinnati), Ohio (77) died on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was a 40-year resident of the Montgomery area and born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on November 6, 1937. Sheila was the devoted wife of 33 years to William Page (Bill) of Cleveland, Ohio and 20 years to her first husband, Dr. Asa Elmore Seeds, Jr. (Sam) of Baltimore, Maryland who preceded her in death. She was a 1955 graduate and valedictorian of Marymount Prep in Arlington, VA. In 1959, Sheila earned a B.S. degree in Social Work from West Virginia University. She met and married Sam while working for Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where their three sons were born. Dr. and Mrs. Seeds relocated to Cincinnati in 1974, where he assumed the position of Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati. Sam passed away on May 12, 1980. Bill and Sheila met at The Community of the Good Shepherd and were married there in 1982. They enjoyed their eucharistic ministry work, traveling, book club, bridge and 19th hole groups as well as their roles as grandparents to seven grandsons. They are the family self proclaimed movie critics often catching first run and premier dates and reporting back insightful assessments in the next family phone conversation. Sheila was a friend to many and surrogate mother to her boys' friends, entertaining them with her warm smile and generous personality. Survivors include her three sons and their wives, Dr. William Asa Seeds (Joslin) of Ashtabula, Ohio, John Thomas Seeds (Sally) of Atlanta, Georgia and Dr. James Robert Seeds (Blake) of Barrington, Illinois and seven grandsons; Matthew, Brian, Billy, Robin, Warren, Jack and Grant; also, two sisters Nancy Gocke Lyons of Melbourne, FL, Gretchen Gocke Westbrook of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and two brothers Thomas Vincent Gocke of Morgantown, West Virginia and James William Gocke of Raleigh, NC their spouses and 16 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Dr. & Mrs. Thomas Vincent Gocke Sr. (Mary Angela Connell) of Clarksburg, West Virginia and Dr. Asa Elmore Seeds, Jr. Visitation will be from from 11 am to 12 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at The Community of the Good Shepherd, 8815 East Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH with a funeral mass following. The graveside service will follow at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with a reception at the church.
