Rufus Weston Murphy of Clearwater, Florida and Madeira, Ohio. Husband of Penny (Hepp) Murphy. Born July 17, 1929 to Rufus Winton Murphy and Clara (Buxton) Murphy. Preceded in death by his sister, Mary Louise Meyers and his wife of 43 years Marie Louise (Kidwell) Murphy. Father to Susan (Jaren) Neff of Lebanon, OH and Ann (Sean) Moorman of Louisville, KY. Grandfather to Ryan Weston Collins, Nicole Ashley Marker and Troy Gregory Marker. Step-father to Carrie (Deward) Voss of Cincinnati and Traci (Leonard) Genovese of New York, NY. Step grandfather of Taylor (Sasha) Voss and Weston Voss. Graduate of Withrow HS and Wittenberg University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He served in the Counter Intelligence Corps during the Korean War. He introduced municipal bonds to Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith where he worked for more than 25 years becoming Regional Manager and Vice President. He loved spending time with family and friends on his farm raising cattle, camping, fishing and riding his John Deere. Was a member of the Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati, OH and Belleair Country Club in Clearwater, FL where he enjoyed many games of tennis and rounds of golf. He was a founding member of the Banker's Club. He was a soft-spoken man who had a smile on his face, love in his heart and a twinkle in his eye. Mr. Murphy passed away on April 4, 2015 at his home. Services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 16th at Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church. Interment immediately following at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family would like to especially thank Aisha Bohanon Clay and Lisa May for their love and exceptional care they provided Mr. Murphy even in the most difficult of times. They were his angels.
