Roberta "Bobbie" Ann Ferrara

Bobbie Niehaus Ferrara passed away on December 30, 2025, after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. She was an OB-gyn nurse and teacher for 53 years at Bethesda Oak Hospital in Cincinnati, but her happiest role was that of mother and grandmother. She raised her three children, David, Julie, and Kathleen single-handedly and fiercely.

Bobbie was adored by her family, friends, and the nursing community. Thousands of Cincinnati babies were delivered with her coaching methods via the Childbirth Education Association.

She loved traveling, her kitties, and taking care of her grandchildren Sarah, Liam, Eamonn, and her beloved Kathryn. Her sense of humor and kindness were her hallmarks, as well as the love she had for her family.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her father, Joseph F. Niehaus, her mother Kathryn M. Niehaus, and her brother Joseph Niehaus.

She is survived by David (Mary) Ferrara, Julia (Huey) Pergrem, Kathleen Ferrara, and grandchildren Sarah Ferrara, Liam Pergrem, Eamonn Pergrem, and Kathryn Grace Ferrara.

A visitation will take place from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 7 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Kenwood. A Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Queen City Hospice, or the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
