Obituary

Robert F. Stewart died on February 7, 2013 at Bethesda North Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Mary Alice, and their two children Zachary and Cassandra. Survivors also include his parents, Robert B. and Mary C. Stewart, along with six brothers and sisters and their spouses: David and Annette Stewart, Michael and Nancy Stewart, JC Stewart, Maureen Walsh, Patricia and Douglas Ashleman, and Thomas and Mindy Stewart. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Born in Norfolk, VA on December 14, 1956, Robbie (as his loved ones knew him) was a precocious child, often bucking authority and generally reveling in trouble. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 where he served on a destroyer in the waning days on the Vietnam War, assisting with the evacuation of Saigon. After his service he attended Miami University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication in 1980. Robbie married his wife on November 20, 1982. After a brief stint selling Cable TV for Warner, Robbie started work at SENCO as a Sales Service Coordinator in 1988, where he remained employed until his death. He had a lifelong love of scotch, nature, and golf. He rarely missed his weekly nine holes, which he played on even the coldest of Sunday mornings. Appropriately, his memorial and life celebration will be held at the Cooper Creek Grill at the Blue Ash Golf Course on Wednesday, February 13 at 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his memory to The Evans Scholarship Foundation/a>.
