Robert "Bob" Meyer, 80, After a brief illness, departed April 9, 2017 to continue to serve his heavenly father with the love and devotion he showed during his time on this earthly plane. His devotion to God, family, and his parish gave comfort to him through his illness and ultimately brought him peace. Bob was blessed with a large and loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He married the love of his life, Dottie Betz, and for 61 years they dedicated their lives to raise their 5 children with patience, humility, and to value the Catholic faith. Bob was a man who devoted his life to the service of God. As a devoted member to the All Saints community for nearly 40 years, and was involved in many ministries. He was a coach, friend, and mentor to many. He proudly served on the building and grounds committee and spent countless hours with other parishioners gardening dedicated to the beautification of the campus, which was his passion. A lifelong Cincinnatian, he graduated from Purcell High School in 1954. He pursued his education at The Ohio State University and competed on the gridiron. He completed his education and football career at Xavier University in 1959. As an independent businessman he lived the American dream with success and humility. Bob is survived by his wife, Dottie; his daughter Karen Crutcher, Leslie New (Kenton), Jenny Haag (Duane), Danna Duarte (Alex); and son Craig (Cyndi); his 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren; brother Terry (Kathy), and sister Barbara Norman (Meyer). His parents, Lester and Jeannette, and his brother Greg precede him in death. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the All Saints Catholic church on Monday, April 17, 2017 with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, with Mass of Christian burial following at 10:30 AM presided by Father Dennis Jaspers. Bob will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the All Saints Educational Endowment, 8929 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati OH 458236.
