Obituary

Richard C. Wallace (77 years). Born October 21, 1936, died March 19, 2014, the son of Richard D. (Wilber) and Alberta C. (nee Macke) Wallace. Loving husband of Patricia A. Wallace (nee Kunzi), devoted father of daughter Janet Lynn, Son David Patrick of Miami Florida and eldest son Michael R. Wallace and daughter-in-law Sylvia L. (nee Mack), and grandfather of Andrew R. and Allyson M. Beloved brother of his sister, Joyce A. Fairfield and his deceased brother and decorated Norwood firefighter Ronald L. Wallace and his sister-in-law Virginia L. Wallace (nee Brockman). A 1954 Purcell High School graduate and a 1958 graduate of Xavier University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a commission as a Lieutenant in the US Army, served 22 years and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel accumulating six medals of commendation and awards for meritorious service. Service in Vietnam. After 1980 retirement from the Army, he re-enrolled in Xavier University attending night school for four years and received his Master's Degree in 1985. In early years after retirement, he managed the Multiple Listing Service for the Cincinnati Board of Realtors introducing the use of computers to the Cincinnati real estate sales community. His secondary career developed as Vice President of Operations for LeaseTrend, Inc. and Ameristate, Inc., both of which provided invaluable service to the real estate sales, legal and financial communities. After a premature second retirement, prompted by health reasons, he volunteered for nearly ten years at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy in their business office. Visitation Monday, March 24 at the Community of the Good Shepherd, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Montgomery, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
