Richard L. Kegg, dear husband of Linda and father of Jennifer and Melissa Kegg, died April 21, 2014, age 79. Dick began working in the R&D Department at Cincinnati Milling Machine Co (Milacron) as a University of Cincinnati mechanical engineering co-op student. After graduation, in 1956, he stayed with "The Mill," holding various positions, and, after 45 years, retired as Vice President of Technology and Manufacturing Development. Dick earned his MS from UC in 1963, and, in 1965, he became the first person to receive a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. In 2005, he was honored with UC's Award of Excellence. Dick always enjoyed new challenges. When he was 30, Dick learned tennis and played for many years, even as he was slowed down by Parkinson's. At age 50, Dick took a windsurf lesson, then bought his own board. Dick took up skiing at 60, and the entire family followed suit, including his three grandchildren, Chloe, Sean, and Luke Huggins. Dick will be interred in Spring Grove, in a private family service, beside his son, Steve, who predeceased him by forty years.
