Longtime Mariemont, Ohio resident Richard L. Kay (Dick), age 85, passed away at home on Monday, November 18th, 2024 after a long time of fighting with heart disease. He was born on December 26th, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Harry R. and Marie A. Kay (nee Bertram). He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois J. Kay (nee Oberschlake) and his siblings Harry J. Kay and Carol (nee Kay) Bronson.

A man of many trades, he held a variety of jobs including data processing (at The University  of Cincinnati and for Shillito's Department Store) and was also self employed (owning Fairfax Auto Parts store) and remodeling homes.

He is survived by his son, Rick (Jim Kelly) of Amberley Village, Ohio and his daughter, Michele/Missy (Greg Roberts) of Milford, Ohio and many friends.

His first love was always Racing (Drag, Sprint Cars, Nascar and Indy car) and until he was no longer able, due to his illness, he could be found on Wednesday nights helping his friends work on a dragster.

Friends and Family are invited to a gathering on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 to be held at Gilligan Funeral Home located at 8225 Montgomery Road from 11am until 12 noon to remember him and say goodbye.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in his name to Hospice of Cincinnati or Caracole.org .
