My beloved father:

Now I am writing with no one physically around me to inspire and edit this text, since your wife, my beloved Mommy Amore, departed last year to join you for eternity. You generously lent me her company and her affection for all these forty years, and it was time for you to claim your treasured jewel. Although we had times of joy and challenge, we always missed you. She, particularly in the last years, told me she was looking forward to meeting you in eternity, and somehow, I knew it was my turn to miss her physical presence. The word “wonderful” does not begin to describe how everyone who had the privilege of meeting her felt about her, and the word “sad” is not enough to say how the same people experienced her departure. You must have been so proud, although not surprised. At night, I see the stars and look for the ones closest together. I named them Renato and Hortensia, and in my dreams, I would like to borrow a piece of the sky around to give more than a million kisses to my Papi and my Mommy Amore. During the day, sometimes kiss the sky, hoping at least some reaches you both. I know our hearts and souls, although now in different dimensions, will always be together.
