Phillip Raye Sanders, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away on April 18, 2026. Phil was born on April 11,1955. After graduating from Loveland High School in 1973, he joined the U.S. Air Force then worked at Hill Air Force Base, near Ogden, Utah. He transferred to Wright-Patterson AFB, where he worked for more than 30 years. Phillip loved music, golf, UK basketball, Cincinnati Bengals and bridge. but most of all, spending time with Mary Angela (Camardo) Sanders, his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years. Phillip is also survived by his children, Kevin and David (Melanie) Sanders; grandchildren, Patrick and Harrison, three brothers, Rev. Lester (Sue), Jeff, and Alan, stepsister, Linda Meineke, and stepbrother, Don Parker, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou and Howard Sanders, and stepmother Gisela Sanders.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, OH 45069. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
