Phil died suddenly on December 23, 2025, at the age of 70.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen (Lukens); his three children: Philip IV and his wife Meagan (Brady), Michael, and Patrick; and his three grandchildren: Philip V “PJ”, Brady, and Maxine. Phil is also survived by his brothers, Sean Muldoon and his wife Moreen, and Brian "Beanie" Muldoon.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Jr. and Maxine (Fries), and his brother, Terrence.
In 1973, Phil graduated from St. Xavier High School. He attended Ball State University, where he played football, graduating in 1977. Phil went on to graduate school at the University of Cincinnati, where he completed his doctoral coursework (ABD) in Economics in 1982.
Phil had a successful career in the finance industry, working as an investment banker and later as a stock analyst. He stayed busy in retirement, taking on teaching as a professor at Mount St. Joseph University.
In his free time, Phil was an avid reader, enjoying both fiction and non-fiction. He was also a big sports fan and a longtime season ticket holder of the Cincinnati Bengals. He loved to watch his three sons play sports in high school and college, and he attended every Wisconsin Badgers football game in which Patrick played.
In his retirement, Phil enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Making many trips to Atlanta to see his three grandchildren, as well as several trips to Europe, were some of the highlights. Known for his deep commitment to relationships, Phil kept close to his old friends, schoolmates, business associates, and his his beloved “Footlippers”.
Phil will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
