Pauline "Polly" Joann Rohde

Pauline “Polly” Joann Rohde, 94, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at Magnolia Springs after an 11-year battle with Alzheimer's.

Polly was born on September 3, 1931, in Cincinnati. She was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Fury) Witschger. She grew up in a large family and was one of seven siblings. Family remained an important part of her life throughout the years.

In the early 1950s, Polly completed her nursing degree at Good Samaritan Hospital. Her compassion and dedication to helping others reflected the caring nature she carried throughout her life. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Jack Rohde, and together they built a warm and welcoming home. They shared 65 wonderful years together before Jack passed on April 2, 2017.

Polly was very active socially and cherished time spent with friends. She was a devoted member of her Bridge Club and Nurses Group, and she and Jack were longtime members of a neighborhood Pot-Luck Group that remained close-knit and supportive well into their later years.

One of Polly’s favorite hobbies was sewing. She shared this passion with her daughter Marcia, patiently teaching her the craft. Together they became quite skilled, creating beautiful clothes to wear and enjoying the creativity and time spent side by side.

Polly is survived by her five children, Frank (Diane), Jeff (Vicki), Marcia (Doug) Giesler, Eric Rohde, and Angie Rohde; three grandchildren, Michelle Giesler, Rebecca Rohde and Krista Rohde, and four great grandchildren, Kyan, Sophia, Annalyn, and Randy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Rohde; son, James Rohde; both her parents; and seven beloved siblings, Clair, Mary, Carol “Beannie”, Virginia “Ginny”, Joseph, and Marti.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the church. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Polly will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family and friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
