CINCINNATI – Patricia Schoenung (nee: Farih), beloved wife, mother, and colleague, has passed away at the age of 84. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Schoenung, and her sister, Mary Brennan. She is survived by her daughter, Brigette Schoenung and her sister, Sharon Moore, nieces, and nephews, as well as many former colleagues who will miss her. She was born Sept. 14, 1940, in St. Louis, MO; at St. Louis University, she earned master's degrees in Radiation Oncology and Hospital Administration. After her father's early death from cancer, she became passionate about extending the lives of cancer patients. She served as the Administrative Director of the Oncology Center at the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati from 1980 until her retirement in 2008, and many knew her from the annual Cancer Survivor's Day river boat cruise she organized. During her tenure at Jewish Hospital, she touched the lives of many, from employees to patients. Patricia passed away Sept. 6, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
A visitation at Gilligan Funeral Home will be on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 5 PM – 7 PM. A Mass at St. Susanna Catholic Church will be on Tuesday, September 16, at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
