Nellie Jane Bridges (nee McCartt), age 91, of Blue Ash, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday May 28, 2021 at the Otterbein of Loveland. She was born August 6, 1929 in Huntsville, Tennessee. She is the daughter of the late Willie "Bill" McCartt & Flora (Strunk) McCartt.

Nellie is preceded in death by husband Clifford Bridges, sons Billy Bridges, Ronnie Bridges, Gary Bridges, brothers John "Jack" McCartt, Kenneth McCartt, Denny McCartt, and sisters Thelma Frazier and Dorothy Donley.

She married Clifford Bridges December 15, 1945 at the age of 18. At the time of Clifford's death they had been married 46 years. Nellie worked in the dry cleaning business for over 50 years, before finally retiring in her 80s. She was a very hard worker and she enjoyed it. She was always busy with work and taking care of the home. She always wanted to feed everyone. You walked into the house and she was offering you a meal or a coke. At one time she enjoyed her many toy poodles. She loved to work in the yard and her garden of flowers and plants. She was very faithful to the Lord. She loved watching church on TV when she wasn't able to go to attend in person. She loved and cared for her family deeply. She is survived by brother Melvin (Gloria) McCartt of Romeo, Michigan; daughter Diana Schneider (Kenny) of Maineville, Ohio and sister-in-law Emma (Lloyd) Posey of Williamsburg, Ohio.  Nellie is also survived by eight grandchildren, Debora (Stan) Cunningham, Jennifer (Brie) Fifer, Josh (Lauren) Bridges, Eric Todd Bridges, Aaron Spiegel, Michelle (Wayne) Cason, Kari Bridges and Ronnie Bridges. She also had nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Nellie's family would like to thank everyone at Otterbein Loveland for all the care they gave her.
