Mya Lay, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. 89, Mya Lay was born on January 16th, 1936 in Taungoo, Burma and resided in Cincinnati, OH.

She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Mya leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.

Mya Lay eloped with the love of her life, Hla Myint, known as Ba Ba by their grandkids, in 1958. This began a beautiful journey together. Soon after, they welcomed their firstborn, Koko Thaw. This marked the start of an ever growing family. Followed by their second son Htin Kyaw and their youngest and only daughter, Mya Sabai.

She is additionally survived by her 2 daughter-in-laws, Moe Moe Zaw and Yu Yu Naing, 8 grandkids: George Kyaw, Will Thaw, Sam & Rebecca Noung, Steven Noung, May Kyaw, Erin Kron, and Sydney Webber.

Throughout her life, she embraced adventure. Traveling and living in many places across the world such as Pakistan, India, Iran, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Croatia to name a few! She always created a warm and loving home wherever she went.

Mya Lay was a devoted Buddhist, always practicing her faith for others and was well known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for those around her. She found joy in the simple moments—sharing stories, preparing meals, singing, dancing, and making lasting memories with her children and grandchildren. Her presence was a source of comfort and wisdom, and her deep love for her family was evident in everything she did.

Though she is no longer physically with us, Mya Lay's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
