Melody "Mel" Judd passed away August 31st 2024 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mel was a Warrior.  She lived with Marfan Syndrome, a genetic condition that affects the body's connective tissue.  She had three major cardiovascular surgeries at the University of Michigan which added 29 more years to her life.  29 more years for her to enjoy her life and those who loved her to enjoy her.

Born in Lansing Michigan 10/3/48.  She graduated from Holy Cross grade school, O'Rafferty High School and Saint Joseph School Of Nursing (Flint, MI).  She got a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the University of Michigan and a Master's in Nursing at the University of Cincinnati.  She shared her talent and love of nursing in various roles in healthcare - instructor, bedside nurse in Cardiac Care, Unit Director, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Consultant in Long Term Care to name a few.

In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, gardening (especially her John Deere), spending time with friends, going to the casino and cheering on her beloved Michigan Wolverines.

She is preceded in death by her father Donald and her brother Terry (Donna).  Mel is survived by her mother Veral, her brother James (the late Nancy), sister Mary K. (Kenny) Salwey, nephews Michael (Jessica) Judd, James Judd and great nieces Eva and Iris Judd.  Mel is also survived by many long term friends - Linda Hussey, Jeanine Soma (since grade school), Kathy Kuerbitz, Jan Cameron, Louise Nagle, Jay Williams and Bonita Williams.

A Chapel Service and Interment will be held on October 23rd 2024 at 1 pm in the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery in Lansing, Michigan.  A lunch will follow at Jimmy's Pub.
