Mary Lou Matre (nee Wolf) died peacefully on February 22, 2025. She is survived by her daughter Vikki (Tim) Foley and granddaughter Jenna Foley. Also survived by her sister Joann (Jerry) Gaines, sister-in-law Julie Matre George, sister-in-law Sue (Don) Christian, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. She joins her husband Albert J Matre in heaven, as well as other beloved family members. Mary loved all her family very much, and loved sharing updates with her daughter about extended family.

She worked for quite some years as a life insurance processing clerk. She loved traveling to Florida and South Carolina for summer vacations with family. After she retired, she started volunteering at Save the Animals Foundation. After her husband passed away, she moved to Brookwood Retirement Community where she became a social butterfly – yes, she turned into an extrovert. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, reading novels, spending time with family/friends and getting cards from loved ones. Visitation at 10:00am on March 1, 2025 - Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd 45236 - with a service at 11:00am. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
