Mary Josephine Stentz (nee Riley) died peacefully at home August 18, 2009. She was 94 years old. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edward W. Riley and Anna M. Riley (nee Daley). She moved to Charleston, WV twenty-two years ago following the death of her beloved husband of 40 years, Robert J. Stentz. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Louis and Edward Riley. In her younger years, she worked for the Cincinnati Public Library. After her marriage, she became a housewife and mother. Mary was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She will certainly be missed by her daughter, Kathleen S. Persinger and her husband, Powers, along with her grandchildren: Brian Francis Persinger and his wife, Victoria L. Crowder of Morgantown, WV and Andrew Powers Persinger of New York, NY. She was the proud aunt of four nieces. Mary was expecting her first great-grandchild in November. Friends may call on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Gilligan-Siefke-Grueter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church, Cincinnati, OH with Father Mark T. Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH. Memorials may be made to either St. Lawrence Church at 3680 Warsaw Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45205 or St. Rita School for the Deaf, 1729 Glendale Milford Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45215. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Jack Kinder and Mrs. Tina Machuca for the loving care and support they have provided for Mary over the past years.
