Mary Ann (Fitzpatrick) Ryan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025. Mary Ann lived a beautiful life filled with many chapters of hard work, family, adventure, and most of all love.

Mary Ann was born on December 22nd, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a caring older sister to Thomas, Carey, and Peggy and a doting daughter to her Mother, Margaret. In 1959, she met her soon-to-be husband William R. Ryan at a local dance, where the two fell in love at first sight and began a 50+ year journey as epic as the storybooks.

Starting with several moves around the northeast, Bill began building a successful homebuilding enterprise, while Mary Ann was building an ever-growing family. In 1968, they settled in Cincinnati, OH, where they raised their children and became pillars of the community.

Throughout her life, Mary Ann loved all things Irish, horse racing, the Cincinnati Bengals, and her family. You could regularly find her on the tennis courts, the golf course, or the racetrack. Or at her home babysitting her grandchildren, hosting parties and cooking for her large family.

For those who knew her best, Mary Ann was kind, welcoming, witty, and loved a good laugh. She was caring for those in need and had a deep love for her family, friends, and most of all her husband.

The family of Mary Ann is mourning her loss while celebrating her reunion in heaven with her husband Bill, son Michael, granddaughter Carey, and mother Margaret.

Mary Ann is survived by her children Laura, Bill & Janet, Patty, Maria & David, Marty & Melissa, Peggy & Mike, her 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Mary Ann.

Mary Ann was passionate about supporting St. Jude's. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital .

Services will be held on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 in Cincinnati, OH. Visitation will be held at 11:30am at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd 45236, followed by a 1:00pm Mass at St. Gertrude Church. The Burial will be held at 2:30 pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family is hosting a reception following.
