Mary Ann Poland passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born in Cleveland Ohio to James Edward and Helen Catherine Poland.

Mary Ann received her bachelor's degree in teaching from Edgecliff College and her master's degree from Xavier University. She taught elementary school for a total of 41 years, first at a parochial school and then at Sharpsburg Elementary, as well as Norwood Middle School in Norwood, Ohio. She influenced many business people, athletes, and law enforcement officers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers James, twins Richard and Thomas, as well as her nephew Mark Poland. She is survived by her sister Helen Potter (nee Poland), and brother John F. Poland. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 East Kemper Road Montgomery Ohio on May 31, 2024, from 10:45 to 11:45 and a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Montgomery Ohio.
