Mary Chaney Harness, died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family and friends, on Thursday, March 26 at her residence in The Glenview, Naples, Florida. Beloved wife of Edward G. Harness, former CEO of Procter & Gamble, she was a long-time resident of Indian Hill. She was born on April 15, 1922 in Rosedale, Mississippi to Eugene Rutledge and Mary Ormond Chaney. Devoted mother and Nana, she is survived by daughter Frances Mankiewicz, sons Edward G. Harness, Jr., and Robert R. Harness, by grandchildren Laura Gongos, Jennifer Miller, Elizabeth Harness, Edward. G. Harness III, Joshua Harness, Noel Harness, Robert W. Harness, and Memrie Harness, great-grandchildren Amanda and William Gongos, and Korbin Grey, and by sister Mona Jordan of Hattiesburg, MS. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 4 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 8101 Beechmont Avenue, Anderson Township. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to The Glenview Employee Christmas Fund, 100 Glenview Drive, Naples, FL 34108, or to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, 1450 Merrihue Drive, Naples, FL 34102.
