Mary Nancy Bowden Ford, age 89, Sarasota, FL, went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 27, 2023.

Mary was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her sister Bonnie Bolen (Michael) and her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn & Stephen Kukanza. She was a devoted grandmother to Daniel, Allison, and Thomas Kukanza, and was overjoyed when Thomas married his wife, Aline. Mary treasured the time she spent as great grandmother to their sons, Henry and Jules.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ford, her brother, William Bowden, her mother, Ruby and father Barney Blue Bowden.

Mary's joy in life was spending time with her family, whether it was big reunions, holiday celebrations, quiet visits at her home in Florida, texts, phone or video calls. She loved all the pictures the grandchildren sent and called them "little surprises".

Visitation, Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 10:00am-11:00am, Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd 45236. Chapel Service to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd 45249.

In lieu of flowers, Mary's family requests donations be made to Second Wind Dreams , a charitable organization benefiting senior mental health care in Mary's memory.
