With gratefulness for her life, and deep sorrow, the family of Mary "Cecile" Berger shares the news of her passing on Wednesday January 15, 2025. That she spent the last two weeks at home, with the company of those who loved her, gave her family solace. She lived 87 years, and found true purpose in loving those around her, adoring her family, planting flowers, maintaining landscapes, biking, walking, hiking, horseback riding and dancing. To balance this work and play, afternoons found her sitting on the chaise lounge, resting and knitting, and reflecting on the raw beauty of this world.

Born in Dayton, Ohio to George and Marcella Buchard, she attended Fairmont High School and The University of Dayton, after which she taught 3rd grade for 5 years. She married Omer in 1963 and they moved to Cincinnati to create a family. With her children settled, Cecile embarked on personal projects such as learning to ride horses in the English Dressage style and ballroom dancing, with lessons and competitions. Wanting to share her joy, she persuaded her family and friends to join her in these activities, while also continuing to find meaning in simple acts of participating in the community.

She is survived by her husband, Omer, and children, Susan Adams (Rob), Kathy Neff (Paul) and Michael (Jo Ann) and sisters, Patty Mick (Tom), Georgia Nelson (Larry) and Sister Marcia Buchard and numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her care and love, intelligence, wit and sense of adventure will be forever missed by those she knew.

Visitation at 10:45 am will be followed at 12:00 pm by a Mass of Christian Burial at The Community of the Good Shepherd Church, 8815 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. Reception luncheon to follow the service.
