Maria Magdalena Maradiaga Estrada

Maria Magdalena Maradiaga Estrada passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Nicaragua, Maria remained deeply connected to her faith, her culture, and the traditions she carried throughout her life. She became a United States citizen in 2013, which was one of her proudest accomplishments that she celebrated with great joy.

Maria was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and deep integrity. She lived simply and humbly, finding happiness in her family, her church, gardening, cooking, and caring for others. She was known for her generosity, her independent spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her home was often filled with family, food, and love.

Nothing brought Maria greater joy than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She devoted her life to caring for her family, sharing her wisdom, preserving family traditions, and expressing her love through acts of service. Her kindness, honesty, and steadfast devotion to those she loved will be remembered always.

Maria was rarely seen without a cross around her neck and a rosary close at hand. Her faith guided every aspect of her life. One of her cherished traditions was placing fresh flowers before her Santo and lighting a candle each Friday, a practice her family will continue in her memory.

Maria is survived by her brother, Jose Victor Maradiaga Estrada; her children, Sergio, Martha, and Maria (Nahur); her grandchildren, Sergio, Germaine, Claudia (Manuel), Rebecca (Michael), and Lauryn; and her great grandchildren, Kayla, Gianna, Cassius, Jonah, Olivia, and Trey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Manuel Maradiaga Lopez and Gregoria Trinidad Estrada Gutierrez; and her siblings, Ramon Maradiaga Estrada, Rosalio Maradiaga Estrada, Rafael Maradiaga Estrada, Pascual Adrian Maradiaga Estrada, Julio Cesar Maradiaga Estrada, and Dolores Adela Maradiaga Estrada.

A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Maria will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, love, resilience, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
