Obituary

Margaret M. "Peggy" Stier, EdD (ne Farrell), beloved wife of James K. Kent Stier for 62 years, dear mother of Vicki (David) Rodarte, Julie (Christopher) LaMothe of Indianapolis, Indiana, Frank X. Stier, Mary Lynne (Peter) Grimm, Larry G. (Brenda) Stier and the late David K. Stier, sister to Jack (June) Farrell, and deceased, Barbara Brooke. She was the loving grandmother Mimi of 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Delivered into Gods hands on April 4, 2016 (age 83). Alzheimers disease robbed her of the very gifts of language and comprehension she perfected and shared with others. She received a Doctorate of Education in Letters from the University of Cincinnati. As a teacher, she inspired students for 41 years, 27 of those years she passionately gave to St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. After retirement she continued to tutor and taught courses at Xavier University. She loved teaching and felt it was her calling. A member of St Xavier Parish, she also served by reading scripture and being a lay distributor. Visitation (9:00 am) and Mass, (10:00 am), are at St. Xavier Church, 607 Sycamore St. Cincinnati, Ohio 45202, on Friday April 15, 2016. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials sent to St. Xavier High School, 600 W North Bend Road, Cincinnati, Oh 45224 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042.
