Lucile Marie Bennett (nee Gervais), a first generation American, born into a bi-lingual French-Canadian family in Westford, MA on April 24, 1928, passed away on November 25, 2020 at the age of 92. Preceded in death by her parents, George Gervais and Maria Gervais (nee Brule), brothers Danny and Aime Gervais, sister Adrienne Valcourt, and her beloved husband, Vincent Bennett, Sr., Lucile is survived by her sister, Denise Reynolds, and her five children: Vincent Bennett Jr (Murielle), Mike Bennett (Mary), Maria Hock (Ambrose), Richard Bennett, and Dan Bennett (Trish). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren (Christine, Greg, Jen, Richard, Jacob, Josh, Eddie, Michael B., Nathan, Michael H. and Jason) and eleven great-grandchildren (Matthew, Sarah, Ryan, Adam, Ellen, Natalie, Vivian, Lucy, Will, Jayden and Riley).Lucile attended Westford Academy, where she excelled in typing, before she met the love of her life while working as a secretary at Fort Devins, where Vincent Bennett was attending a branch of UMass set up for WWII veterans. She became the proud wife of a USAF pilot, living in nine states and two foreign countries (Canada and Thailand) during her husband's military career and post military life. Lucile knitted many afghans and blankets and cross stitch items that are treasured by the family. Her life centered around church, where she was a member of the choir and later in life an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed singing and dancing. Often her 6' 2" husband would lift his 5 ft tall wife completely off the dance floor and whisk her around the floor. The most important things in her life were her family and her faith. Unfortunately, COVID isolated her from her family during her last eight months of life. Donations in Lucile's memory may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund (www.heartlandhospicefund.org) or to All Saints Church, Kenwood, OH (www.allsaints.cc)
