Ken Weis, beloved husband of Mary Suzanne Weis, father of John Weis (Karen), Mary Rebecca Weis, Julie Weis (Chris Hudson), and preceded in death by daughter Andrea Weis (Larry Dean), the grandfather of Tullus and Julia Dean, Kenny Weis (Angela) and Andrew Weis, and the great-grandfather of Madison and Benjamin Weis, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018 in the loving presence of his devoted wife Suzanne and sister-in-law Rita Bohland (and in the compassionate care of Hospice and the Loveland Health Care Center staff) after an extended illness. Ken was born November 24, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio. From his early days, Ken's intellect and intense focus were apparent. Orphaned as a young teenager, Ken continued his studies under the tutelage of the Jesuits at Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and later at Bowling Green State University and the University of Delaware. A chemical engineer by training, Ken devoted his life to Dupont, and later to Westinghouse, after which he spent his consulting years traveling to enhance the safety of chemical plants worldwide. Ken loved his days in Wilmington, Louisville, Beaumont, Aiken, and finally Cincinnati, where he and Suzanne moved to be closer to Andrea and her family. Ken most fundamentally loved his wife (of 65 years), Suzanne. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral Mass will be noon Monday, October 29, 2018, at Good Shepherd Church (8815 E. Kemper Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45249), preceded by visitation at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or a charity of your choosing.
