Kathryn "Betty" Rugh (nee Carlton), born January 16, 1923, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2007. Married for 61 years, Betty was the dear and beloved wife of Walter B. Rugh, M.D., loving mother of Kathryn R. Stidham and James R. Rugh (Mari Jo), devoted grandmother of Kate Huyvaert (Paul F. Doherty, Jr.), Bill Stidham Garner, Austin Rugh, Ben Rugh and Casey Rugh. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Kathryn V. Carlton. She leaves dear brothers Bob (Bobbi) and Ed Carlton (Ginny), brother-in-law John F. Rugh (Ruth), nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful, dear friends. Betty was a woman of many facets: an avid golfer, bowler, tennis and bridge player, deep thinker and voracious reader, photographer and dedicated volunteer. More importantly, she was the best partner, wife, Mom, Nonnie, and friend. She will be deeply missed. Memorial Mass 1 PM on Saturday, December 15 at Good Shepherd Parish, 8815 E. Kemper Rd., followed by a Celebration of her life. Because Betty spent 27 years as a volunteer with the Junior Co-operative Society of Cincinnati Children's Hospital, the family asks, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to: Junior Co-operative Society, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, 3333 Burnet Ave., MLC 9002, Cincinnati, OH 45229.
