Kathryn Derrick(nee Fisk), 66 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by all of her family, after a heroic 3 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Kathy was the beloved wife of John Andrew "Drew" Derrick for 40 years; devoted daughter of Peggy Fisk and the late James S. Fisk of Hyde Park; cherished mother of Ellen Stephenson (Dwight) and Andrew Derrick (Karin); affectionate "Nana" to Anna Grace, Jeanne, Edward, and Frederick Stephenson; caring sister of Jim (Truka) Fisk, Jr., Barbara (Pepper) Hatch, Steve (Dianne) Fisk, Dan (Margie) Fisk, and Dave (Tammy) Fisk; and beloved aunt of 37 nieces and nephews. Kathy graduated from St. Mary School ('62), The Summit Country Day School ('66), University of Cincinnati (BS Ed. '70), and Xavier University (MS Ed. '90). A lifelong educator, she retired after 25 years as an English teacher and Library Media Specialist at Mt. Notre Dame High School. Kathy was a 35 year parishioner at Nativity of our Lord Parish and a selfless volunteer for Nativity, MND, Boys Hope, Corryville Catholic School, and several other organizations as a student mentor, retreat leader, educational advisor, and committee member. Kathy loved traveling, cooking, reading, attending the theater, and especially spending time with her family. Visitation will be held Friday, September 19 from 4:00 7:00 pm at Gilligan Funeral Home, 2926 Woodburn Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 20 at 10:00 am at Nativity of Our Lord, 5935 Pandora Ave.In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to Mt. Notre Dame High School Scholarship Fund (711 E. Columbia Ave., Cinti, OH 45215) and/or The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation (375 Dixmyth Ave., Cinti, OH 45220).
