Karl Otto Armbruster died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday June 26 at SEM Haven in Milford, Ohio, at the age of 82. Karl was born in Canal Winchester, Ohio, on October 2, 1933, to Herman and Lillian Armbruster. He attended Madeira High School, where he lettered in track, football, and basketball and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the U.S. Navy, graduated from Xavier University, and worked as a systems analyst at General Electric. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and animals, and later in life enjoyed golfing and sailing and became an amateur videographer. Friends and family counted on his kindness, charm, sense of humor and unconditional support. Karl is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Moorman), his brother Don (Sandy) Armbruster, his daughters Karla Armbruster (Peter Coogan), Kristin Smith (Darren), and Kathryn Haigh, and his grandchildren Madeleine and Ryan Haigh, Spencer and Cameron Smith, Lila Armbruster, and Lucinda Coogan. He is preceded in death by his sister Betty Lou McKinney, her husband Tom, and their son Patrick. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, at Good Shepherd Church, 8815 East Kemper Road, Cincinnati OH 45249 from 10:30 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon.
