Julia "Judy" Mary Gellenbeck, nee Hanlon, beloved mother of Julie (Jeff) Wilbourn and Doug Gellenbeck, adoring grandmother of Maeve and Miles Wilbourn, loving sister of Ann (Jack) Callahan and Susan Collopy, affectionate aunt and great-aunt of the Callahan, Collopy, and Hanlon families. Predeceased by dear brothers Pat (Laverne) and Jack (Frieda) Hanlon, and parents Edward and Mary McCarty Hanlon. Proudly born and raised in Cincinnati, she attended St. Mark's Elementary, St. Mary's High School, and the University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority. With a career in education, she taught at Fort Rucker Army Dependents, Evanston Elementary, North Avondale Elementary, Summit Country Day, and Kirby Road Elementary schools. Judy's greatest joy was motherhood, and she loved spending time with her many friends. She enjoyed volunteering, travel, gardening, and sharing her interest in college sports. Devoted to her faith, she resides in God's embrace, and remains forever in our hearts. Visitation at 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am, on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Rose Church, 2501 Riverside Drive, Cincinnati. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio, or St. Margaret Hall, 1960 Madison Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45206.
