IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce
Jordan
July 10, 1930 – April 28, 2025
Joyce Marian Kucera Jordan was born on July 10,1930 in Waconia, Minnesota and died April 28, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Joyce grew up on a farm in Waconia, the beloved only child of Adolph (Jim) Kucera and Henrietta (Biersdorf) Kucera.
Raised in the loving embrace of her extended family and their farming community, Joyce learned the value of hard work during the Depression, and the happiness contained in homemade bread, pies and every kind "hot dish" imaginable. She became the valedictorian of her high school graduating class. In 1952, while working as an executive secretary in Minneapolis, the brown-eyed beauty with the lovely smile caught the eye of William E. Jordan, a salesman from Cincinnati's Gibson Greeting Cards. After marrying, they settled in the Hopkins area and had four children - LeeAnn, Rebecca, William and Sara. Bill and Joyce had many friends, and they were active in the local Optimists Club. Joyce was a star in her bowling league and also put her artistic talents to work creating floral arrangements that were sold in area gift shops - a favorite hobby that she continued to enjoy throughout her life.
In 1967, the family relocated to Montgomery, Ohio. It was there that Joyce went to work with the Bardon Company. After the death of her husband, Bill, in 1996, she maintained his specialty promotion business for several years. Joyce was known for her accomplishments as a cook, her excellent taste in home decor and fashion, and her faith. She played the piano, sang in the choir at Ascension Lutheran Church, and served as a formidable opponent with a deck of cards - just like her mother. Later, she lived in Mason, Ohio, where she enjoyed her new friends at King of Kings Lutheran Church. What she loved most was time spent with her family.
Joyce is survived by her four children, three grandchildren, and is deeply missed by all. After private services for the family, she was laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to King Of Kings Lutheran church at 3621 Socialville-Foster Rd, Mason, OH 45040.
